What is �10,000 in american money ($)?

To be more exact, in the movie Pride and Prejudice they say that Mr. Darcy has �10,000 a year. Mr. Bingley has �5,000 a year and then it is asked that Mr. Bennet pays �100 a year on the obnoxious sister Lydia. So....how much would those amounts have been in dollars in the 1800s and then how much would that be today.. In dollars. :) I hope i didn't get too confusing. Please help me with this. I just can't find it!
