When an autopsy is performed, what do the microscopic samples show? For example...?

Would it be able to show if someone had a mive heart attack that could not have been prevented? I basically want to know about the heart, because a loved one of mine suffered a heart attack and died. I want to know if they can determine if he could have been saved by looking at the microscopic samples....we are awaiting those results.....thank you.
