Me and my friend have an argument about...?

Most of the soups I eat or drink other than tomato soup has some kind of chunk in it that I must use a spoon with. Thinking about it most of the time I automatically just say eat soup. But I have put soup in a cup many times and did not use a spoon so I guess that would be drinking soup. It's not really a matter of opinion but the situation your in as worthier to use phrase one or two.
